Over last weekend I got speaking to one of my friends from Cape Town, who told me about a bar made completely of ICE! Now being in the ice machine business I found this very interesting to say the very least!

I decided to look up the ICE LOUNGE when i got into work this morning, and I must say it is extremely impressive! The club is situated at the V&A waterfront and it is most definitely a place I will be visiting later on this year when I go down to cape town!

The Ice Lounge has got 60 tonnes of sculpted ice, kept cool at a chilly -5 degrees Celsius! Cape Town has a reputation of hitting the high 30’s, so this place is perfect for cooling off!! Forget about the beach!!

One of the coolest things about the Ice Lounge is; when you arrive you are given a thermal coat to wear so its like being on the set of a James Bond movie! Now all you need is the silver Aston Martin and Hale Berry on your arm!

I can’t wait to get to Cape Town and enjoy an ice cold drink, in an ice cold night club!

Well the new year is well and truly on its way, and the festivities of Christmas have began to fizzle out, I must admit that I am pretty happy and excited to be back behind the computer to tackle another year’s worth of internet marketing.

I have spent the last 6 weeks in Australia, on an outstanding holiday. As I expected it has been a real shock to the systems trying to get back into routine, but with a few cups of coffee and some exciting new ideas I am pretty sure I will be back in full creative force soon enough!

On the 1st of December 2008 I boarded a co-sponsored SAA/QANTAS flight at O.R. Thambo airport, excited for the holiday ahead. I was booked on a QANTAS flight to Sydney, and it was a pretty good flight, I had a terrible seat but the service was both friendly and timeous. I could not complain.

On the 13th of January 2009 I flew an SAA flight back to South Africa from Perth. I flew on a really new looking A360 SAA plane, I found out the meaning of “looks can be deceiving”. This has got to be the most uncomfortable plane in existence, I had a window seat and could barely feel a slight whisper of cool air from the air conditioning, but what made it even more dismal was the service as it was almost unheard of, but like your normal apathetic Saffa i decided to grit my teeth and bear it.

This got me thinking about service delivery, I began to wonder whether Ice Systems lives up to it’s values of Service Excellence. I would like to think so, but just like I didn’t complain on the SAA flight perhaps some of our customers do not complain.
