Some of the steps involved in an ice make refrigerant check are:

Verification that there is enough water supply.
Components in the water distribution system are inspected to identify any scale build-up. If there is scale build-up it must be removed.
The ice machine will be checked to see whether it starts, runs, and freezes correctly.
The evaporator plate is checked for wear and tear. If it is worn too much, ice will not drop of the plate.
The condenser is checked to see whether it is clean and that there is no interference with the air flow to the condenser.

Many more steps are involved in the ice maker refrigerant check ensuring that your machine is in optimal working order.
